Al-Poshe Pakora (Pumpkin Flower Pakora)

This is a Kashmiri snack that my mom used to make and we used to relish it. For this, we use pumpkin flowers. A pumpkin is called Al in Kashmiri language.

Ingredients

- Pumpkin flowers 10-12 no 
- Rice flour 1/2 cup 
- Ajwain 1/2 tsp 
- Red chilli powder to taste 
- Salt to taste 
- Oil for frying

Method of Cooking

1. Cut the stems of the flowers and take the inner part out. Use the petals only.
2. Cut the flowers lengthwise into two parts. Rinse in water. Let all the water drain.
3. Make the batter using rice flour, salt, ajwain and chilli powder using little amount of water.
4. Dip the flowers in the batter one by one and coat them with batter completely.
5. Deep fry in hot oil till done.
6. Enjoy it with some tamarind chutney.
