Dates 10-15 (Cut into length wise into 5-6 pieces)
Dry coconut ½ (Cut into inch long pieces not to thin not to thick)
Cardamoms 7-8
Cinnamon 1 stick
Pepper corns 10-15
Saffron a pinch or Edible yellow color few drops
Kewra few drops
Cloves 3-4
Bayleaves 3-4
Sugar candy crystals (Mishri) ¼ cup
1. Wash rice and keep it aside.
2. In a heavy bottomed pan boil 2 cups of water than add rice and cook till water is absorbed by rice . Stir it gently.
3. In other pan take 1 cup water and all the above ingredients except kewra, cloves, Bayleaves and ghee. Boil it on low heat till the sugar gets dissolved.
4. Now mix rice and the sugar syrup mixture together gently.
5. Heat ghee add bayleaves and cloves to it and than add it to the above rice mixture.
6. Put a lid on the pan and seal it tightly so that the aroma does not come out, and cook on very slow heat for 20-25 min or till the rice is done.
Just before serving add Kewra and sugar candy crystals.
